Ruth De Backer

Ruth De Backer has served as Chief Business Officer of 10x Genomics since 2020, bringing extensive experience in strategy and corporate development in the pharma and medical industries to the company. Prior to 10x Genomics, Ruth spent nearly 20 years at McKinsey & Company and rose to partner where she led McKinsey's Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice in Pharmaceuticals & Medical Products. In her tenure at the company, she advised clients on a range of areas including new growth sectors, capital allocation, and mergers and acquisitions. Ruth holds a Licentiate in Law from University of Ghent, Belgium and a LL.M. from New York University.
